Sunset Beach
A little farther on up the road from Waimea Bay is the world famous Sunset Beach. The Beach Boys sang about this place too but pronounced it ok. This is one of the North Shore's most widely known surfing spots. The day I was there, the preliminary rounds of the Excel Pro Surf Meet were underway in surf of 6-10 feet. The bigger surf rolls in on an outer reef quite a ways off shore.
This Vr was shot using a Kodak DC 50 digital camera on Saturday November 2nd 1996. It was sunny over the beach but quite cloudy in the hills inland.
Sunset is pronounced sun-set. ;)
